The Mazzer Philos is a premium single dose grinder engineered for baristas and coffee enthusiasts who demand precision, consistency, and flexibility—without sacrificing counter space. Designed and manufactured in Italy, Philos delivers exceptional grind quality for all brewing methods, from espresso to batch brew.

With its elegant, compact form and zero-retention design, Philos lets you experiment freely with different coffee origins and recipes while preserving every gram of coffee.

Zero Retention, Maximum Control

Philos is built around vertically oriented flat burrs to virtually eliminate retention and cross-contamination between doses. Switching beans or brew styles is seamless—no purging, no waste.

A smart dose finisher collects residual grounds and cleans the chute after each grind. When not in use, it stores neatly in its dedicated slot behind the front plate.

Effortless Workflow & Maintenance

Designed for daily professional use, Philos offers tool-free access to the grinding chamber from the front—making cleaning or burr replacement fast and simple, all while retaining your grind setting.

The large ergonomic adjustment dial features a clear index for precise control and minimizes the risk of accidental movement. The grinder can also be used with or without the hopper, allowing an even more compact setup without compromising safety or performance.

Compact Design, Built to Last

Available in Black or Silver, Philos blends timeless aesthetics with industrial durability. Inspired by the iconic Mazzer ZM, its clean lines complement any coffee bar or home setup.

  • Precision-machined components

  • Asynchronous motor for long-term reliability

  • Constructed from stainless steel, brass, and anodized aluminum

  • Highly recyclable, sustainable materials

Weighing 12.5 kg, Philos is solid, stable, and remarkably quiet thanks to tight manufacturing tolerances and an integrated vibration-damping system. All coffee-contact components are food-safe certified, and both electronic and mechanical safety systems protect the user—even when the hopper is removed.

Stepped or Stepless – Your Choice

Philos adapts to your workflow with dual adjustment modes:

  • Stepped mode: ultra-fine steps of just 6 microns for excellent repeatability across espresso and filter brewing

  • Stepless mode: infinite adjustment for ultimate precision when dialing in espresso

Switching between modes is quick and simple.

Uniform Grinding, Consistent Flavor

A carefully engineered pre-breaker auger, optimized grinding duct, and vertical burr orientation ensure a steady bean feed with no popcorning, clogging, or regrinding.

Every Philos grinder is individually tested at the factory to guarantee perfect burr parallelism—delivering uniform particle size and consistent extractions shot after shot.

Coffee FAQ

Why is the roast date printed on the back of the bag?

We print the roast date on every bag so you know exactly when your coffee was roasted. Freshness is key to great flavor—our beans are usually at their best between 7–30 days after roasting. This gives the coffee time to “rest” and allows the flavors to fully develop.

How long will my coffee stay fresh?

Once opened, we recommend consuming your beans within 4–6 weeks. To keep them at their best, store them in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, and always reseal the bag tightly or place them in an airtight container.

Do you use a “best before” date?

Instead of a “best before” date, we focus on the roast date. Coffee doesn’t “go bad” like milk, but it will gradually lose flavor and aroma over time. Knowing the roast date lets you decide how fresh you want your brew.

How should I store my coffee?
  • Keep it in the original resealable bag or an airtight container.
  • Store in a cool, dark place—like a pantry, not the fridge.
  • Avoid moisture, heat, and strong odors, as coffee easily absorbs them.
Do you offer subscriptions?

Yes! You can subscribe to have fresh coffee delivered to your door on a schedule that suits you. Subscriptions mean you’ll never run out of your favorite beans.

Can I trace where my coffee comes from?

Absolutely. We source our beans directly from farmers and cooperatives whenever possible. Each bag lists the origin, variety, and processing method so you know exactly where your coffee comes from.
