Origin Information
Blessed with the richness in soil due to decades of volcanic activity in the region, producers in the Narino Galeras region are overwhelmingly smallholders, who manage their own self-sufficient wet-mills and patios (open or covered) for drying. Boasting some of the best drying conditions in the country with the high altitude of the region, lower relative humidity, more wind and more sunny days than other areas of Colombia, the combination provides one of the most optimal conditions for growing micro-lot coffee.
The high altitude of cultivation allows for a slow development of the coffee beans which gives the cup profile of Narino its unique characteristics.
